One of Metallica’s guitarists and lead singer joined Corrosion of Conformity on stage at Oakland’s Fox Theatre on Sunday, May 29. Hetfield joined the band for their song “Seven Days” from their 1994 album Deliverance .
Hetfield added his strong, vigorous vocals and back-up guitar to the performance. For the most part, he stood on one side of the stage. However, towards the ending of the song Hetfield gravitated towards the band at center stage to jam out.
The appearance of Hetfield was a surprise, but Metallica has had connections with Corrosion of Conformity in the past. For example, Hetfield appeared as featured artist on their song “Man or Ash”, and Metallica has invited Pepper Keenan to appear on a track of their Garage, Inc. EP.
