Hatsune Miku is taking the world by storm and with great reason. She is revolutionizing the entire pop music star production line that has been in place since the industry first came around. Instead of having your Mileys or your Beibers who are bred from a young age to become this superstar that will be faced by a massive audience starting at the age of 16 and then fall into the down side of superstar dome at a young age. Lets create a virual 16-year-old girl using a singing synthesizer application called Vocaloid and have her perform in front of the audiences. Since this long turquoise pigtailed sensation’s creation she has been selling out arena concerts all over the world. Her vocaloid software has made it possible to create 100.000 plus songs along with endless endorsement deals. She is essentially the “perfect pop star,” being a money making machine with none of the human side effects.
So it is no wonder that other musical acts want to be a part of this unique new from of super star dome. The New York City band Anamanaguchi have done collaboration with Miku in a crossover pop track incidentally titled, “Miku.” The new single tells the imaginative and fictitious story of Miku becoming self-aware of what she is. Lyrically the song is about how Miku is seen and what she knows she is capable of. She sings about how she is grateful of what she has become, and how she owes it to the support of the communities around her. The kicker to all of this is that they made her sing about how she is aware that she was created to be a tool, “- a continuous facade for her users remote fascinations.” It is all a very cool aspect to bring to the already brilliantly displayed world of Miku to make her seen more like a real person.
