The well-known pop star, Kesha, performed at the Billboard Music awards on Sunday night, leaving the  audience in awe of her performance.

Kesha’s performance to Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe” was performed in a very intimate setting. Being only accompanied by a violist and pianist, this setting was intriguingly different from the past performances this artist have given. The small stage setting allowed for the performance to be more personal, as she sang this slow paced track. Inserting pauses and her own touches, Kesha was able to captivate her audience. The “Tik Tok” artist  was able to showcase her vocal range, but she did not overdo it, seeming as she was trying too hard. Her performance was concluded with an awe-inspiring smile, where she was given a standing ovation from the audience.

It has come to most peoples attention that these past few months have not been good for Kesha. The pop star had proclaimed that her mentor, Dr. Luke, had sexually assaulted her thus leaving her with emotional and psychological scars. Her performance at the Billboard Music Awards was questionable in regard to its legality. This performance was cancelled for Dr. Luke had rescinded his approval of the performance. He feared Kesha would use this opportunity to speak against him. However, the artist agreed to not use her stage time for that purpose, and Luke again granted her permission to perform Sunday night.

Despite the current drama, there have been allegations concerning Kesha’s sobriety during the performance. Some have exclaimed that it was obvious that she was drunk, but these accusations have yet to be proven true. Kesha has yet to be interviewed.
