Gojira have release a new video for “Severa.” The song comes from their upcoming album Magna, which is set to be released on June 17th.
The video was shot on a New York City rooftop. While the band plays the song on the roof, the video cuts into the odd live’s of the people that make up the concrete jungle.
The clip starts off zooming out of a woman’s eye, then going into another woman struggling inside a flour bag. Most of these clips are defying gravity and biology.
Frontmen Mario and Joseph Duplantier told Loudwire, “Everything we go through in life inspires us to write songs and this was like an earth-shattering event,” Joe said. “For us being musicians, it’s a way to cope with life in general, so of course for a moment that intense and that important there’s no other way than expressing it in the music. It’s still hard, it’s not because you write about it, it becomes easy but it helps for sure. This album is full of that experience.”
In addition to the release of their new album, the band will be preparing for their Fall tour throughout North America. The French metallers haven’t release an album since 2012’s L’Enfant Sauvage.
