English rapper, M.I.A, has announced a release date for her upcoming album. Fans can expect the rapper’s fifth record to be released sometime in July. The album will include 12 songs, and will be the last album she releases with her American label, Interscope.
This will be the last LP for M.I.A. at Interscope because of the difficulties the rapper is facing when it comes to getting a U.S. visa. Prior to the release announcement, M.I.A. tweeted, “I am handing in my last LP in to my American label. It will be up to them if its [sic] released. I don’t have a visa 4 states to promote or spk!”
The release of this album follows the release of a number of songs from the rapper, which include, “MIA OLA” and “Rewear It.” Along with the announcement of the release date, M.I.A has gone to Instagram to post a sneak peek of song lyrics that will be featured on her upcoming album.
It has been reported that M.I.A is so excited about the upcoming album, which she explains is “happy”, that she considers leaking it every day when she wakes up. She said,”you can make a record that’s happy about surviving and not constantly talk about fight. At the end of the day, I feel like-maybe this is totally gibberish to everyone-but it’s probably better to remind people about survival than it is about the moment you go to battle. Because that’s just a moment.”
