John Carpenter Announces 12″ Double A-Side Singles Of Re-Recorded Film Themes

Director John Carpenter is planning on hitting the road soon. He will be performing at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and a handful of European dates, with a couple of trick’s up his sleeve.

“Carpenter and his Lost Themes bandmates — so, son Cody Carpenter (synths), godson Daniel Davies (guitar), John Spiker (bass), John Konesky (guitar), and Scott Seiver (drums) — re-recorded the iconic themes for Halloween, Escape From New York, Assault on Precinct 13, and The Fog for a special 12″ release,” according to Consequence of Sound. 

Sacred Bones will issue the two singles, which will be released as follows: Halloween b/w Escape From New York and Assault on Precinct 13 b/w The Fog. Both double A-sided 12′ will be available in deluxe limited edition mylar mirrorboard sleeves as well as picture discs.

Those that are able to attend his live performance will have the chance to purchase these singles as special red and blue vinyl editions. However, if you’re not able to get overseas, you can pre-order the regular editions via Sacred Bones’ website.

Both singles will be available on June 17th.

Carpenter recently released Lost Themes II, following the release of Lost Themes, the previous year.
