Mad Decent Block Party has just announced its 2016 lineup, and fans will not be disappointed. The Diplo-hosted tour will hit 13 different cities across North America and features some very special guests, including Kaskade, DJ Snake, Tiesto, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, RL Grime, Kesha and many more.
The tour is going on its 9th year and will feature 15 stops across the United States. The event is known for hosting a solid mixture of different acts in dance music, hip-hop and pop, which is representative of Diplo and his wide range of musical tastes. Last year, the event hosted artists such as Skrillex, Alison Wonderland, Die Antwoord, Ilovemakonnen, Diplo, and Knife Party. Mad Decent Block Party has rapidly gained popularity over the years, as it is as much of a block party as it is a music festival, and has a family vibe that cannot be found anywhere else.
Of course, all families have their share of drama. Mad Decent Block Party landed in hot water back in 2012 at the Chicago date, when fans stampeded the front gates. The event hit capacity at 5 P.M, and police eventually had to arrive and squash the event before the headliners were even able to perform. As a result, the festival has not returned to Chicago since. However, fans are excited to see that the 2016 tour has a date planned at Northerly Island’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at $45 a ticket. Hopefully things go more smoothly this time!
