WATCH: AC/DC Releases Promo Video For Replacement Shows With Axl Rose

ACDC has just released a short promo video in an attempt to generate excitement for their upcoming shows with Axl Rose, specifically in Lisbon, Portugal.

It has been nearly a couple weeks now since Axl Rose announced, to a crowd of screaming Coachella fans, that he would be replacing Brian Johnson for the remainder of ACDC’sRock or Bust” tour. The announcement was made during Guns and Roses‘ headlining performance with the company of Angus Young, ACDC guitarist. Since the announcement there has been an eruption in ACDC’s fan community as justifiable mixture of positivity, speculation and mostly negativity. Due to the latter reaction there has actually been a refund offered by a ticketing service named See Tickets. Other major ticketing services, Ticketmaster for example, have not followed on this decision.

Just recently, ACDC and Rose have taken the initiative to the option fans have at a refund and released a short promo video for their show in Lisbon, Portugal. The video includes Young, Rose and ACDC bassist, Cliff Williams together for the first time, as reported by SPIN. The trio uses the video in order to express their excitement for the upcoming shows as Rose says, “we’re very excited to be there” in regards to Lisbon and Williams follows with “we will see you on Saturday.” The video can be seen below.

The emergency replacement of Johnson came after the lead singer was forced to depart from the tour months ago. The 1980 ACDC veteran was told by doctors that if he were to continue to perform he would run the risk of suffering from permanent hearing loss. Johnson was faced with a decision of finishing the tour for his fans and losing the most valuable tool to any musician or stepping down and being able hear what defined his life in the first place, music. Well the decision was made and now Rose has some iconic shoes to fill and a pretty distinct hat to try on.

While Rose has been seemingly excited to lend his talents to ACDC in their time of need, the Guns and Roses tour will see no set back from he volunteering. The “Not In This Lifetime” stadium tour of Guns and Roses is set to kick off shortly after ACDC’s final show on June 12.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
