“The part we like the most is where we see the astronaut being shot into hyperspace and then we see that being part of the cosmic constellation,” director Marti Romances said about DJ Shadow’s “The Mountain Will Fall” video.
The viewer is initially introduced to a loan astronaut gently floating through space. This of course coincides with the beat of the music. Starting off slow and peaceful.
Gradually, the music begins to intensify, and that is where the viewer sees the astronaut get shot through a bright light into what one would assume is hyperspace.
The CGI space travel also the viewer and the lone astronaut to experience the same feelings and reactions to the music. In the beginning, a sense of calm and relaxation, and as the music begins to intensify so does the astronaut’s trip. Just as quickly the trip into hyperspace begins, it ends. The viewer is left with the vastness of space as the music slowly fades to an end.
“The Mountain Will Fall” will be the title track to DJ Shadow’s next album, which is expected to be released on June 24, 2016.
