M.I.A. Has Completed Her “Last” Record Which May Not Be Released

M.I.A. has been releasing new music here and there over the last year. Today she has revealed the completion of a new album, and her last, but she is unsure if it will ever get released.

M.I.A. took to Twitter to reveal the news.

She dropped “Borders” last November, “Boom ADD” in February, and both “MIA OLA” and “Foreign Friend” in March.

M.I.A. claims  that she’d turned in what she referred to as her “last LP,” presumably the album/film project Matahdatah, to her “American label.” “That label is likely Interscope, through which she released 2014’s Matangi via her own N.E.E.T. Recordings,” according to Consequence of Sound.

However, since she does not have a US visa to tour behind or otherwise promote the record, it’s apparently up to the label whether or not it will ever see the light of day. I guess we’ll just sit around and wait to see if her label will do anything with the album. Until then, M.I.A. will probably be making some records with DJ Khaled and Selena Gomez.
