For the past few months, Kanye West’s website has included a section dedicated to a tour in support of his latest album, The Life of Pablo, that had not yet been announced. That all changed earlier today when, while being interviewed for Steve Harvey’s morning radio show, Kanye revealed that the tour is set to kick off in September.
“So we gone go out in September, I believe, and we’re just working on some of the ideas right now,” Kanye explained. “But as I said before, it’s like, I’m trying to literally inspire these kids the way Disney inspired me, the way, you know, when I saw the original Star Wars.”
The only date that Kanye is currently confirmed for is on June 5th, when he will headline New York’s Governors Ball.
The past couple of months have been crazy for West. In classic Kanye fashion, the lead up to his album was a social media firestorm, including twitter beef with Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose and multiple changes to the name of the album. The Life of Pablo was initially released strictly to Tidal, in conjunction with a Kanye rant about how the traditional, 21st century methods of buying music screw the artist out of millions of dollars. West later went back on that and released the album to Spotify and Apple Music.
