Plaid Announce New Album The Digging Remedy For June 2016 Release

Plaid has just announced that they will release a new album titled The Digging Remedy that is set for a June 10 release date.

The British electronic music duo, Plaid, has just announced follow up to their 2014 release, Reachy Prints. The forthcoming album will be titled The Digging Remedy and will be the bands return to Warp Records. While the album is not set to be released until June 10, fans can unlock the lead track “CLOCK” early by visiting this interactive website here, which is a collaborative project with the digital artist Cabbibo.

This new release will be Plaid’s sixteenth album in their discography to join their previous 15 released over the course of 25 years.

According to a press release, the new album is booming with what has made Ed Handley and Andy Turner so prolific in their time. The duo also teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Benet Walsh who plays flute and guitar on the album. Plaid has stuck with their encapsulation of this generation’s electronic music, using both innovative rhythmic variation and emotive melody and infusing that with chest thumping texture. Much of this can be heard in “Clock” as they utilize the ecstatic Detriot chords. The overall project is highly detailed and well put together with “bigger and broader scope, more luxuriant sound, and more gleaming with detail,” the release explains. The full tracklist for the album can be seen below along with the album art.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
