Larry Hardy’s In The Red Records is undoubtedly one of the most famous underground rock labels in the world. Since its formation in 1991, the label has hosted a steady roster of feral punk and garage rock acts including the Black Lips, Segall, Jay Reatard, the Oblivians, King Khan & the BBQ Show, Thee Oh Sees and many more. The label turns 25 this year, and is celebrating with a three-day concert in Los Angeles this summer.
In the Red’s 25th Anniversary Event will take place July 14-16 at Echo and Echoplex in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The concert will feature some of the most popular acts from throughout the label’s history, including Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin performing their 2009 album Reverse Shark Attack in its entirety. Segall is known for his frequent collaborations with other artists, and released his new album Emotional Mugger earlier this year. Other acts set to perform include the Gories, Cheater Slicks, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds and more In addition, the audience will enjoy a rare performance from Boss Hog, the husband-and-wife duo of Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez, and the debut performance from Segall’s new band GØGGS.
The event is expected to be one of the best rock concerts in Los Angeles this Summer, and will pay tribute to the hundreds of artists hosted by In the Red Records over the past 25 years.
