Blink-182 Announce Summer 2016 Tour Dates

Blink-182 has just announced a string of brand new tour dates just moments after they released a new single titled “Bored to Death.”

A lot is emerging out of the post-Tom DeLonge Blink-182 world, including set of tour dates and the release of a new lyric video for their single “Bored to Death.” The new track is presumed to be a part of their upcoming album California that is set to be released on July 1. While DeLonge was one of the founding members and a huge contributor to the pop punk groups original sound, the band has chosen to keep the show going after his departure. Matt Skiba, most notable for his work with the band Alkaline Trio, has stepped into the role and replaced Delonge. While the new single is led by Mark Hoppus’ vocals, Skiba can be heard contributing to the song’s harmonies. A smart choice by the band to ease the transition for fans of the original Blink-182 sound to the new, as DeLonge and Hoppus were known for switching roles of lead vocal. The new track can be streamed below.

According to Consequence of Sound, Blink-182 will take to the road at the beginning of late July with a show at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California on the 22. The tour will then take them east into a sort of loop around the country. They will play shows in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Minnesota, Washington and Arizona to name a few. Then they will make a few stops in Canada before finishing the tour back in California. The beginning portion of the tour will be accompanied by The All-American Rejects and A Day to Remember, while the second half will be accompanied by A Day to Remember and All Time Low. Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
