LISTEN; Ladyhawke Releases New Song “Dangerous”

Earlier this month, New Zealand native Ladyhawke announced her forthcoming album, Wild Things, set to be released this June via Polyvinyl. The album will be her third and follow-up to 2012’s Anxiety. The multi-talent singer has created a global buzz for herself after the release of her award-winning self-titled debut in 2008. More recently, she has shared the exhilaratingly catchy single “A Love Song.” Now, she is sharing the second album single “Dangerous,” a song with a dark beat that seems to belong on the nightclub dancefloors. Good luck getting this one out of your head.

Many fans have been left wondering about the long waits between Ladyhawke album releases. According to a press release, the singer has invested a great deal of time ensuring that her music stays true to herself as an artist. And she’s walked the walk; after creating an album’s worth of music in 2013, she scrapped it all and started from square one. Wild Things took about another year to create (with producer Tommy English -Børns, Tiësto, Dark Waves) but succeeds in staying true to Ladyhawk. To support the album, Ladyhawke will kick-off a US tour that begins in Boston, MA.

The singer has been known to create beats that pop and dance around inside your head for hours. Singles have earworm hooks, shimmering synths, dance beats and are held together by the title track that cheerleads getting one’s act together and settling down, a conspicuously uncommon theme in current music. This style propelled her to success in 2009 with her self-titled album that won her the ARIA awards for Breakthrough Artist in both album and single categories. From the start of her career, Ladyhawke has released 10 singles off of 3 studio albums, in addition to collaboration with artists such as Pnau, Alex Winston, and Tim Burgess.
