Photos: The Arcs Live at the Henry Fonda Theatre

New side project from The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach The Arcs performed at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles this week. The six-piece group (featuring two drummers Homer Steinweiss and Richard Swift) played this gig in between the two Coachella weekends as one of the now-annual Coachella side shows. While billed sonically as a project far different than The Black Keys, this performance was all about Auerbach, as he drove the majority of the band’s stage presence. Auerbach sings and plays lead guitar driving the blues rock sound with frequent, nimble guitar solos. Black Keys fans in attendance screamed in delight as Auerbach took the stage. The band played cuts from their debut album Yours, Dreamily occasionally backed by opening Mariachi Flor de Toloache. Songs played included “Put a Flower In Your Pocket,” “The Chains of Love” and a cover of The Temptations’ “Smiling Faces Sometimes.”
