Independent alternative/dream pop band Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions have released two new songs, “Isn’t It True” and “She’s in the Wall”, off their upcoming album that does not yet have a confirmed release date or a title. This new album will be a followup to their 2009 album Through the Devil Softly. The band released these two new songs in honor of Record Store Day this past weekend. “Isn’t It True” provides more of the band’s dream pop sound, while “She’s in the Wall” serves as its counterpart with a somber acoustic sound.
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions is composed of Hope Sandoval from the American alternative rock band Mazzy Star and Colm Ó Cíosóig from the Irish rock band My Bloody Valentine. The band released their first album in 2001, Bavarian Fruit Bread, to generally positive reviews from critics. Eight years later, the band released Through the Devil Softly in 2009. The album was recorded over a two-year period between 2007 and 2009, winning critical acclaim for its dark and complex production.
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions is known for employing unorthodox techniques in their music recordings, particularly in Through the Devil Softly. They often use sudden and abrupt time signature shifts, along with frequent use of irrational measure lengths. In their production they also use intricate musical arrangements, with certain songs featuring no discernible choruses.
