Canadian musical artist Grimes recently reported that she is working on new music. In fact, she’s supposedly halfway done with a new record. Back in November, she released her fourth studio album Art Angels, and Grimes explained that some of the new music she’s working on might be paired with this album. She said she had a lot of songs ready for Art Angels, but they didn’t quite fit with the flow of the album so she left them off the record. However, she is considering releasing a new version of Art Angels, and she continues to work on other projects as well.
On top of all of that, Grimes will also be headlining the first-ever concert at Wizard World. Wizard World is an annual pop culture and comic book convention in Philadelphia. It will take place there June 2-5. This will kick off Wizard World’s new concert series that will run through the rest of this year. As if that isn’t exciting enough, Grimes will also be playing at Coachella next week. She also has many tour dates with Florence + The Machine. Find them here!
Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver and became involved with the underground music scene while she was attending university, when she began recording her own experimental music. Her music is well-known by critics for having an atypical combination of vocal elements and a wide variety of genres mixed together, including electronic, pop, R&B, and even obscure genres such as medieval music.
