Classixx Share “Just Let Go” And Announce New Album Faraway Reach For June 2016 Release

Electronic duo Classixx are set to release their second studio album, Faraway Reach, on June 3rd via Innovative Leisure.

The group has also just released a new song, “Just Let Go” featuring Tom Krell of How To Dress Well. Classixx has previewed two other songs from the album, “Grecian Summer” and “Whatever I Want” featuring T-Pain. The first thing one notices about the new album is the collaborations. Faraway Reach features guest appearances from Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost!, Passion Pit, Electric Blue, De Lux, Isles, Harriet Brown and more. This eclectic group of guest stars serves as a representation of how Classixx is fearless with their music and frequently intertwines genres including pop, R&B, hip-hop, disco and even contemporary music from South Africa.

It seems that Faraway Reach aims to be a Summer soundtrack that one can dance along to in the car, on the beach or even in your bedroom. According to the press release, the group drew inspiration from ” both breezy beach days in California and a colorful visual palette, while extending their influences to nostalgic summer nights and locations around the world.” Meanwhile, band member Michael David implies that the record is about evolving as a band. He states that Faraway Reach refers to “resolving an underdog feeling that is pretty personal, and finding contentment in our process, one step at a time, toward something greater than the two of us.”

Classixx consists of best friends Tyler Blake & Michael David, and the group gained significant attention with their 2013 debut album Hanging Gardens. Mxdwn said of the record, “Hanging Gardens is a solid dance record and really just a solid record in general. There’s nothing too crazy or innovative, but you can’t call it boring either.” While the reaction was lukewarm, there are high expectations for Faraway Reach and one can only hope the album delivers.
