Big Grams – collaborative project between Outkast’s Big Boi and Phantogram – get psychedelic for Adult Swim’s Off the Air. The Awesome, Inc. producers designed a colorful video for two of the group’s songs – “Born to Shine” featuring Run the Jewels and “Run for Your Life,” both tracks off the group’s self-titled debut. The band has previously wowed audiences with the former in their live performance with Killer Mike.
Get ready to be dazed and confused watching this video: the gang goes on a visually surreal adventure for this one. The clip features the triumvirate in animated form tripping through a blighted city, gambling, visiting a hole-in-the-wall club, entering a haunted house, avoiding an array of post-apocalyptic villains, and escaping a group of deadly leprechauns.
Big Grams debuted in September when they released their self-titled album. The two acts have collaborated since 2010, when Big Boi discovered Phantogram. The new album features Run the Jewels, Skrillex. The band will promote the album through the festival circuit, including Hangout Festival, Sasquatch, Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Bunbury and Free Press Summer Fest. Their tour will also include a highly anticipated show at the Red Rock theater, known for it’s natural beauty and acoustics, in Denver, CO.
