A few lucky music fans at SXSW 2016 were able to experience watching one of the biggest bands in music play an intimate house show when Cage the Elephant stopped in Austin for a secret show. The band just announced a massive arena tour with Portugal. the Man that began on March 16 in El Paso, TX. During the day off between El Paso and Oklahoma, the band had the perfect opportunity to give some attendees at SXSW the kind of show an enormously popular modern rock act like Cage the Elephant rarely put on.

A few hours before the show commenced, the band dropped a little hint on their Twitter:

Here is a clip of the band performing “Come a Little Closer” in the crowded living room in Austin.

Cage the Elephant most recently released their fourth studio album, Tell Me I’m Pretty in December of 2015.
