Global Citizen Compilation Album To Feature Kanye West, The National And Ellie Goulding

Social justice organization Global Citizen, along with Ben Lovett from British folk rock band Mumford & Sons, is releasing their first-ever compilation album. The album Metamorphoses will be released through Communion records and will feature contributions from Kanye West, The National, Ellie Goulding, and, of course, Mumford & Sons. The album is set to be released this fall and will have 12 tracks.

Global Citizen has asked people to contribute their own words so that Lovett and the other artists can pick the best ones and incorporate them into the original songs being written for the album. Submissions are being taken until March 31st. Hugh Evans, co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen, collaborated with Lovett to work on the compilation album in order to encourage citizens to get involved with the movement of Global Citizen, whose goal is to end poverty by 2030.

Kanye West has been very active lately when it comes to producing music. Just last month he released his seventh studio album The Life of Pablo (check out a great review of it here). Then, couple weeks ago, he announced that he was already working on a new one. West has become one of the most critically acclaimed musicians of this century.

American indie rock band The National has been around since 1999, their most recent work being Trouble Will Find Me released back in 2013, their sixth studio album. Last month, they announced that they would be going on tour this summer. They also will be headlining the UK Latitude Festival. As if that wasn’t enough, members of The National recently decided to form new band, LNZNDRF, with members of Beirut.

Ellie Goulding has been having a great year, and to continue it she will be headlining Bonnaroo this year. She’s got three studio albums out so far, her most recent one being Delirium, released last year (there’s review of it here). Currently, Goulding is busy on her Delirium World Tour, which started in January and will end in October.
