German electronic music duo Digitalism has a lot going on this spring: they’ve recently announced a North American tour, and a brand new album due out in May. Their tour will start in May in Brooklyn, New York and end in June in Los Angeles. The band will headline ten shows throughout their tour. Mirage will be their third full-length album, with fifteen tracks, and it will be released May 13th of this year.
Digitalism has been around since 2004, when they formed in Hamburg, which is where they continue to create music. The duo has remixed tracks for many well-known artists, such as Daft Punk, The White Stripes, and Tiga. These remixes have been played by several DJs, including Justice and Soulwax. In the span of their career, Digitalism has played at major festivals such as Lollapalooza and Coachella.
Back in 2007, the band debuted their first album Idealism. Five of the tracks off the album were previously debuted as EPs before the album’s release. The songs went on to feature in many commercials. “Pogo”, for example, was featured in many EA games. In 2011, Digitalism released their second album I Love You Dude. One of the songs off the album, “Forrest Gump”, was co-written by Julian Casablancas, lead vocalist of American rock band The Strokes.
