“60s garage rock and the 2010s garage punk sound.” That’s how some, including myself, would describe the noise that is Twin Peaks. In 2009 in a Chicago high school, five teens started a band, and the rest is history. Twin Peaks are touring to support their third album Down In Heaven, which will release on May 13th. Influenced by my favorites Ty Segall and The Strokes, Twin Peaks hopefully will one day be as big as Ty or The Strokes. They are that good, yes. If you like garage rock sounds such as the Orwells, FIDLAR, and the Growlers, you’ll most likely love Twin Peaks, or at least, appreciate the music.
Named Best New Band by NME, Twin Peaks gained attention after their sophomore release Wild Onion. Listen below to their hit song Making Breakfast. Trust me, man, this show is going to sell out. After their well-reviewed second album, there’s no stopping this band. Are Twin Peaks the next Mac DeMarco? Probably. So get on the Twin Peaks hype before they’re too mainstream to be cool anymore.
