LISTEN: James Blake Releases New Song “RPG” Featuring Trim

The electronic music artist and producer, James Blake, has just released a new song he produced for English rapper Trim, Pitchfork reports.

The song, entitled “RPG” was featured on James Blake’s BBC Radio 1 residency. The song features Trim, a rapper from East London, whose sound is a mixture of electronic, dance, and cool R&B beats.

The song is a perfect melding between the two artists. It has the chillwave, wispy sound effects representative of James Blake, and the catchy electronic beats of Trim. The song sounds glitchy in the best way, with various sound effects and backing vocals. It’s captivating, addictive, and just a little crazy.

This is not the first time the two artists have collaborated, however. Back in 2012, they worked together to release two songs, “Confidence Boost” and “Saying.”

The song is set to be released on James Blake’s 1-800-Dinosaur EP.

James Blake is a singer/songwriter and music producer from London. He released his self-titled first album in 2011 and his second album, Overgrown was released in 2013. Both albums received critical acclaim, and award nominations. In 2014, James Blake was nominated for Grammy for Best New Artist. Last year, he toured around North America and the UK, performing DJ sets.  Earlier this year, James Blake released a song of his own entitled “Modern Soul” that is planned to be released on his forthcoming album Radio Silence.
