Corrosion of Conformity is set to embark on an epic North American tour next month. The tour will be split into two legs, the first beginning in Huntington, West Virginia and running April 6-16 with rock trio Mothership. After a couple weeks, the group will head to New Orleans on May 3 to perform with Clutch and Lamb of God until mid-June.
This follows Corrosion of Conformity’s successful headlining tour with Brant Bjork And The Low Desert Punk Band, Saviours and Mothership at the end of 2015, and will include some never-before-heard tunes from their upcoming album. Guitarist Woodroe Weatherman states, “We’ve all been working hard writing and demoing new riffs for the next album but we thought it would be a good idea to jump on the road a bit and let some of these new ideas sink in.”
Since the formation of Corrosion of Conformity over thirty years ago, the group has released seven studio albums. Their latest was 2014’s IX, of which you can find a review here. Vocalist and guitarist Peter Keenan had decided to take a break from the band in 2005 to pursue his other projects, but fans eagerly awaited his return. Over ten years later, Keenan will perform lead vocals on the tour as well as the band’s upcoming album, scheduled for release in Fall 2016.
