The metalcore band Vampires Everywhere premiered a dark music video and seductive single, “Perfect Lie”, with less than two weeks until the anticipated release of the full-length album, Ritual.
The Los Angeles-based shock rock act was born 2009 and unleashed their debut EP Lost in the Shadows the following year. With inspirations including Slipknot and The Black Dahlia Murder, Vampires Everywhere’s sound spans several genres, from gothic rock and horror punk to alternative metal.
Ritual, the follow-up to 2012’s Hellbound and Heartless, produced by Matt Good and mixed by Paramore and Bring Me the Horizon’s David Bendeth, drops March 18. “Perfect Lie” joins the three tracks released off of Ritual: “Ghost Inside My Head”, “Black Betty”, and a cover of Hozier’s hit “Take Me To Church”, featuring Chelsea Grin’s Alex Koehler.
Frontman Michael Orlando elaborated on the message behind the industrial track, “Perfect Lie”, and its evocative music video, directed by Orie McGinness:
We put our trust in others and pray they return the trust 100 fold! However, 99 percent of the time we are let down and lose pieces of ourselves in the process. This song represents the trials and tribulations of this ritual. My last relationship taught me trust is overrated. I lost a giant piece of myself and again the monster took over. I am better as a monster because of it.
Vampires Everywhere will support Ritual with two tours: the headlining “Ritual Tour” launching across North America and the extensive “Make America Hate Again” run alongside Filter and Orgy.
