Last week Modern Baseball announced that they will be going on tour with Joyce Manor this Spring and will be playing two nights at Irving Plaza on June 24 and 25.
Modern Baseball has become the unofficial front runner of what seems like a pop-punk revolution in the music scene. After releasing their debut album, Sports, out of a basement in December 2012, they have found themselves stumbling into a world of success. Sports was nothing less than a perfect pop-punk record that caught the attention of college kids, hipsters and emo-elitists everywhere. In 2014, the band released You’re Gonna Miss It All which made it to 15 on the US Billboard 200 Alternative Albums list and sent Modern Baseball into the main-stream world of success.
The band announced The Holy Ghost Tour in support of their third record, Holy Ghost, that comes on on May 13th via Run For Cover Records. In addition to the tour announcement, the band also released two new songs on their Soundcloud, Everyday and Apple Cider, I Don’t Mind, which is a slight change of pace of what you’d expect to hear from them. It seems as if the band is maturing more and more with each release and if these two songs are a reflection of how the entire album will sound, they are about to find themselves more successful than anyone could have ever imagined. Joyce Manor, the indie/punk band from California, will also be touring with Modern Baseball this Spring. The band released their self-titled record in 2011 which caught the attention of punk fans almost instantly. Since their debut, the band has released two other records including their most recent, Never Hung Over Again, which came out in 2014.Check out their song, Falling in Love Again, that appeared on the record.
