You all know the hit song by the Neighbourhood Sweater Weather. If you don’t, I’m sorry, but you were living under a rock for the years 2012 and 2013. Sweater Weather reached the number one spot in the United States Alternative charts in 2012, with little shock considering the song is so damn catchy. The song now has over 109 million views and received loads of radio play. Not band for the band’s second ever single. The Neighbourhood are touring to promote their sophomore album Wiped Out! released on October 30th, 2015.
The five-piece band has played high-profile events such as SXSW, Coachella, and Lollapalooza. They even opened for one of San Francisco’s local events, Not So Silent Night put on by Live 105. Their first album I Love You. was released in 2013 and received mixed reviews. Their more recent album gained better reviews, so hopefully, as the band goes on the music will only get better. The Neighbourhood’s ex-drummer Oliver Sammis says on the musical process, “I think that at least regarding the musical aspect of it, all of us try and get our emotions out through our instruments, which is not always the easiest thing to do.”
Don’t miss these alt-rockers kill it at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Tickets will sell out so act quickly before they’re all gone. Listen below to their new single R.I.P. 2 My Youth from the new album Wiped Out!
