Dave Lombardo seems to hop from gig to gig every day. Former Slayer drummer has abandoned his band Philm and is now gearing up for his new project Dead Cross. The punk band features Justin Pearson of The Locust, Retox, Head Wound City and more.
Lombardo’s ambitions, however, expand beyond his new projects. According to Brooklyn Vegan, the drummer will be joining thrash group Suicidal Tendencies, who recently toured with a Lombardo-less Slayer. Suicidal, along with Bodomand Havok, will be opening for Megadeth, who are working to support their latest effort, Dystopia. Tickets are still available, see the schedule below for more information.
Megadeth and Suicidal Tendencies have a long history of performing together, specifically on tour. They bands hit the road in 1992 with Headbangers Ball. If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for this tour, check out some highlights form this tour, which perfectly captures the early 90’s zeitgeist that’s driving us to see Lombardo play 25 years into his career.
