Frightened Rabbit Announce New Album Painting Of A Panic Attack For April 2016 Release

After three years of creative silence and little movement as far as performances, Frightened Rabbit is about to put out what is said by some fans to be their best album yet:

“Great songwriters touch a nerve, and I think Scott really touches a nerve with these songs. To me, lyrically, this album is a step above anything he’s written before.” Said Dressner, a longtime committed fan of Frightened Rabbit, when talking about the album and lead singer Scott Hutchison.

The Album: Painting of a Panic Attack will be released on April 8th by Canvasback Music/Atlantic. The band: Scott Hutchison (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Grant Hutchison (drums), Billy Kennedy (bass), Andy Monaghan (guitar/keys) and Simon Liddell (guitar/keys) have released a single for the album on iTunes called Death Dream. The tour was just announced this morning via Pitchfork and will be their first U.S. tour in nearly three years. (Read about some of their past performances here and here.)  It will begin on April 21st at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR. They will make stops at festivals such as Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Music Festival on May 15^th and Sasquatch! on May 29th (full itinerary below). Normal ticket sales for the tour will begin February 26th at 10am local time and presale tickets will begin February 24th at 10am local time.

Painting of a Panic Attack was recorded at Dessner’s Brooklyn studio, where the National have also recorded two of their albums. Much of the albums lyrics are themed around Los Angeles since Hutchison moved their from Scottland and has resided for the past two years. This will be the bands first album since 2013’s major label debut Pedestrian Verse hitting the highest on the charts for them yet and making it on the Top 10 in the UK. The album also found high praise in the U.S. through magazines such as Rolling Stone and Time.
