Just a few months away from their U.S. tour, The Black Dahlia Murder has just released the video for their single “Threat Level No. 3.” The song comes off their latest album Abysmal, which came out last September (check out review of it here). The album is the band’s seventh studio album and the last album that features guitarist Ryan Knight, who recently left the band and is working on a solo album. Brandon Ellis will replace him on their upcoming tour. The band plans to play their first full-length album Unhallowed (2003) as well as Abysmal in their entirety while on their tour that starts in April.
The Black Dahlia Murder is an American melodic death metal band that’s been around since 2001, originating in Waterford, Michigan. They’ve been one of the most popular American metal bands over the last decade. Their name comes from the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short. She was referred to as The Black Dahlia and was found dead in 1947. Her case is one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in the history of Los Angeles. The Black Dahlia Murder based their name directly off the murder case.
“Threat Level No. 3” was written, directed, and animated by Adam Avilla. The band wrote the song with a devilish character in mind that the music video captures well. Vocalist Trevor Strnad said it is the best video they have made so far. Note: this video is not safe for work (NSFW).
