The schedule of upcoming hardcore shows never seem to be in short supply in NYC and now you can add one more show to that list. Canadian Melodic Hardcore band, Counterparts, and mid-western hardcore band, Expire, are coming to The Studio at Webster Hall on April 8th during their co-headlining tour announced earlier this month.
This is not the first time these two have hit the road together. In 2014, the two bands accompanied Stray From the Path on a North American Tour to promote their new album, Anonymous. For the second time in two years, the two bands will team up with hardcore bands Gideon and Knocked Loose for a full-length North American tour.
Counterparts has had a rough couple of years but it finally seems as if they are beginning to pick themselves back up. The band is currently on tour with Stick To Your Guns in Europe to promote their fourth full-length record, Tragedy Will Find Us, that was released last summer. The album, which has received generally positive reviews, was the band’s first release with Pure Noise Records since parting ways with Victory Records last year. It was also their first record since the departure of guitarist Alex Re and bassist Eric Bazinet.

Expire had been teasing the tour announcement on Facebook and Instagram few weeks before it was finally confirmed. The band has been pretty quiet up until recently and this will be their first full-length tour since the release of Pretty Low in 2014. In addition to the tour, Bridge 9 Records will be releasing Old Songs, a compilation album of the band’s first two EP’s, on March 25th. But that’s not all. Last week the band stated that they are in studio and in the process of recording their third EP.
