Devin Townsend To Play Acoustic Set At Benefit Show For Bass Player

Devin Townsend, lead songwriter, vocalist and guitarist for the Devin Townsend Project known also for his former projects Strapping Young Lad, Ocean Machine and Punky Brüster, recently asked fans and the internet to help his friend, John Harder aka Squid Squiderson, through his battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Townsend posted the following message: “Squid Squiderson, bassist on Punky Brüster and Ocean Machine, could use a little help. He’s been battling MS (Multiple Sclerosis) for a while now and things are getting a little tough. Please, help if you can, even if it is just sharing this post and link…”

Sources say, Squiderson’s friends are planning benefit show to take place February 17th in Vancouver, BC at The Fox. Townsend will perform an acoustic set on the night. Several other acts will also perform including: Hot Panda, Catlow, Library, and DJ Jason Corbett. Additional acts may be announced soon.

Squiderson posted the following update on the GoFundMe page.

“I’ve been dealing with MS for many years and it’s progressed to the point of me not being able to work my job. I require special equipment and I hope to go to school to earn a living again but I’m struggling to meet simplest daily needs and I need help. Anything helps and despite my pride I’m asking for a bit ‘o help.”
