Yesterday, the van that belongs to the Lower Dens was stolen in San Antonio, Texas. The theft occurred on tour in support of last year’s Escape From Evil album, in which the band was stopping at The Pearl, a local coffee shop before yesterday’s gig. Lower Dens reached out to their followers on Twitter to keep a look out for their truck. Unknown Mortal Orchestra who was also touring with Lower Dens reached out to their Twitter followers to spread the message and help with the finding of the stolen truck. The truck contained all the gear Lower Dens owned, including personal laptops owned by the band members.
Luckily today, the truck was located in the city of San Antonio and Jana Hunter, band member from Lower Dens, went back to the city to reclaim the truck. Sadly, the laptops were taken and some of the gear too. But Lower Dens is just happy that they got their van back. The group took to Facebook to announce their happiness and joy at finding their stolen van. The local San Antonio newspaper wrote an article on the story about the missing van and how the San Antonio Police Department was able to recover it within less than twenty four hours of the van being labeled as stolen. The police received an anonymous tip that a van matching the description and photo of the van found on Lower Dens’ Twitter page was parked on the North Side of the city in front of the Montecristo Apartments. So far police Sergeant Ramiro Juarez have stated that the investigation has been ongoing and no suspect has been announced as of yet. Lower Dens has been able to successfully continue with their tour with no future cancelations.
