For the fourth year, Best Kept Secret is having its festival this June (the 17th through the 19th) at Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek in the Netherlands, and it’s got a killer lineup. Beck, Jamie xx, and Wilco are just some of the great artists that will be performing – find the complete list of names here. And there are still more to be announced!
Beck has been around since the 1990s, but he’s really grown in fame recently, especially after his latest album Morning Phase, his thirteenth studio album which also won Album of the Year at last year’s Grammys. He’s known for creating music of all different styles, and his lyrics are ironic and different. Two of his albums (Odelay and Sea Change) have even made it on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Beck is a four-time platinum artist and sure to astound in all his live performances. He’s even collaborated with Paul McCartney.
British music producer Jamie xx doubles as a remix artist/DJ. He’s also well-known as a member of the indie pop band The xx, who have gained much popularity and commercial success since their debut album xx, released in 2009. Jamie xx has also been working on his own music, recently releasing his debut studio album In Colour last May (find a great review of it here). He worked on the album for five years, and his work seems to have paid off, as the album received excellent reviews from critics. It even received a nomination at the upcoming 2016 Grammys for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
Wilco has been around since 1994, and they’ve got nine studio albums under the belt. Their most recent one, Star Wars, was released back in July and was available for free download. The alternative rock band has won two Grammys for their fifth studio album, A Ghost Is Born (released in 2004), and they have been active playing shows. In fact, Wilco delivered a great collaborative performance of a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s song “Manic Depression” last month.
