Field Music @ The Independent 4/1

What do AC/DC, Phoenix, and Field Music all have in common? The three groups are from foreign countries and have siblings as members of the band. Meet David Brewis and Peter Brewis, English brothers who formed the band Field Music back in 2004. The band is releasing their sixth album Commontime in just a few days on February 6th. Make sure to check out the album once it hits the shelves. Hot off the press comes Pitchfork’s rating of the new album, awarding Commontime a 7.8/10. Not too shabby considering this band over a decade old and continues to stay fresh. Reminding me of a less electronic Hot Chip, Field Music creates funky riffs, hip-shaking cowbell, and saxophone on their new single The Noisy Days Are Over. Take a listen below!

Field Music takes a new twist on their classic influences such as The Talking Heads, Roxy Music, and My Bloody Valentine. Don’t miss out on seeing Field Music perform new songs off Commontime as well as hits like In Context and Them That Do Nothing. Tickets are selling fast so act quickly. You can’t miss out on this $15 show to see a band with decades worth of tunes. Don’t forget to grab their new album Commontime on February 6th!
