Geographer @ The Catalyst Club 3/29

Soulful music from outer space? What’s that? Well, that’s how Michael Deni describes his band Geographer. The band comes from the best city ever, you guessed it, San Francisco. Looking for a fresh start after a series of family deaths, Deni moved from his hometown in New Jersey to San Francisco. The darkest of times inspired Deni to create the band Geographer and they released their first album in 2008 titled Innocent Ghosts. The band is touring to promote their new album Ghost Modern released in 2015.

After praise from Spin Magazine, Geographer grew into a more well-known band and soon after signed to Tricycle Records. Since then, Geographer has opened for Foster the People, Atlas Sound, Toro Y Moi, and have played a myriad of festivals. I had the opportunity to experience Geographer live and I have a tiny scar to tell the tale. Deni crowd surfed right over me and his shoe kicked my hand and left a mark. Let Geographer leave a mark on your existence and go see them in Santa Cruz with openers The Crookes.
