Deftones Gore album, will be released in April of this year. The band has released a teaser trailer for the new album which will be produced by Warner Bros. Records. Chino Moreno from Deftones says that the new album has sixteen tracks to follow the band’s 2012’s Koi No Yakan album. Their 2012 album was produced by Matt Hyde and included special guest Alice In Chains member Jerry Cantrell.
Gore is what Moreno describes as something out of the box with lots of jam packed songs. The album was influenced by Morrissey, former frontman of British band The Smiths. “I’ve been on this crazy Morrissey kick recently – totally obsessing over his solo records – so I brought a lot of that to the table,” Moreno said to NME magazine.. “On those early solo records, he uses this awesome, Elvis-y delay on his vocal that I’ve been ripping off a ton. He’s always been a favourite lyricist of mine – the beautiful poetic melancholy of it all.” But Moreno also says that there are still darker elements to the album to keep the sweetness of the music from going sour.
Deftones will be performing at the London’s Wembley Arena in June, which was rescheduled from the Paris attacks last year in November. The gig will be performed June 3, which is before Deftones will be performing at the Download Festival later this year. The band is also scheduled to perform at MUSINK this year.
