New Order has released a new video for their song, “Tutti Frutti.” The song comes off their last album, Music Complete, which was the first LP the band released in a decade.
The video was directed by Tom Haines. An old man is the focus of the video where he daydreams about being the host of a variety TV show.
After reuniting over a friend’s illness in 2011, New Order booked some gigs and made money in order to pay for some of his medical bills. The band ended up touring on and off for about 3 years and decided it was only right to write an album. Music Complete was the result of this where Rolling Stone claimed it to be, “their best record since 1989’s Technique.”
Although the band has overcome a few bumps in the road, they’re back and better than ever. Today, New Order consists of: Bernard Sumner on vocals, guitars, and keyboards; Gillian Gilbert on keyboards; Stephen Morris on drums and programming; Phil Cunningham on guitars; and new boy Tom Chapman on bass.
Music Complete was the first record to be made without bassist Peter Hook, who departed in 2007, and the first with Gilbert since she took a decade-long break in 2001.
