Jenny Lee Lindberg, bassist for indie rock outfit Warpaint, has been focusing on her solo career since late 2015, when she released her debut solo album, right on! under her new moniker jennylee. In support of the new album, jennylee has just released a new video for one of the album’s tracks, “boom boom.”
The video was directed by J.T. Gurzi and features jennylee dancing in a large studio with her friend Micky Adams. “boom boom” is anchored by a powerful and catchy bass hook alongside jennylee’s dreamy but confident vocals.
In discussing her new album and current musical trajectory, jennylee stated “my love has always been movement – dance – and it dawned on me one day, how cool would it be if I could make music to move to?!?” As a result, right on! features new wave influenced danceable beats, and jennylee’s passion for dance is clearly on display in the new video. She has also released a video for “Never,” another song from her new album.
Prior to right on!, jennylee’s latest release was Warpaint’s self-titled 2014 album. She will be touring in support of the new album starting in late January.
