Anthrax, Fear Factory, Venom, Rotting Christ — though these may sound like the titles of some gruesome horror films, they aren’t. They are part of the lineup for the world-renown metal festival, Bloodstock Fest, taking place in the UK from August 11–14. The lineup was announced earlier this week and tickets are available for purchase on the Bloodstock Festival website.
The death metal fest has become a longstanding tradition in Catton Park, Derbyshire, hosting its 11th anniversary festival this year of the world’s most leather-clad deathcore fans. The 2016 headliners are Slayer, Mastodon and Twisted Sister. Slayer released their 12th studio album “Repentless” in November, and they are currently on tour around the United States.
Early bird tickets for the three day festival (along with a Thursday evening pre-show) are sold out, though the Standard Weekend ticket is still available for £146 ($208), which includes a three-night camping spot. If that seems a little steep, tickets can be purchased and paid for in five installments for those who sign up by February 29. Surprisingly enough, there’s no age requirement, and kids under 4 years old get in for free — though, maybe reconsider that one.
