Supergroup, The Last Shadow Puppets just launched the video for their brand-new cut: “Bad Habits.” The video is the band’s first since releasing 2008’s single: “My Mistakes Were Made For You.
The Last Shadow Puppets is the imminent side-project of: Arctic Monkeys‘ frontman Alex Turner, ex-rascals member Miles Kane, and Simian Mobile Disco drummer James Ford. While helmed under the capable guidance of James Ford in the producer’s chair, both Turner and Kane are lead-singer’s interchangeably weaving their own brand of ability into the sonic-score that comprises said supergroup.
Panning into a color-scheme chock-full of vibrant reds in direct juxtaposition with desaturated-blues, the stylistic-approaches of “Bad Habits” harken back to an indie-90’s era. Toying with the lustful-themes of indulgence poised against such jittery terms of paranoia in discernment, the video carries its strengths and weaknesses seamlessly through the running-course in time.
Having maintained a relatively low-key persona over the better part of a decade, the boys of The Last Shadow Puppets first released their debut full-length, The Age of Understatement in April 2008, courtesy of Domino. The record scored the top-position on the UK charts and was proceeded by a quaint string of live-performances, including an enchanting two-ditty set in a Camden pub and a discreet gig at Glastonbury.
While naturally “Bad Habits” is expected to tease the release of their sophomore-project, no indicative release date has yet to be revealed. Last November, drummer/producer James Ford did unveil information referring to current recording in the studio:
“This year, I’ve just done a Last Shadow Puppets record, which is the guy from Arctic Monkeys and Miles. So we did the follow-up album to that. That’s the last thing I did.”
