Miike Snow unleashed an unrepentantly provocative music video for their anthemic new single “Genghis Khan.” The indie pop band’s video, commended by Rolling Stone as “a bright, funky reminder of Miike Snow’s serious pop chops”, was directed by award-winning Ninian Doff and produced by Pulse Films.
“Genghis Khan” champions vocal layers dissolving into blazing synth hits. Reminiscent of James Bond, the music video’s fusion of suspense and romance attracted critical acclaim, with Billboard declaring “Genghis Khan” as “more proof that (Miike Snow) are reinventing themselves yet again” and SPIN praising the track’s “crisp kick-snare-fill punch and sterling pianos” as “very much a return to form for the trio.”
Partnering with Tumblr and Spotify, Miike Snow crafted an incredible interactive experience so that fans can listen to the band’s tracks while synchronously exploring uniquely similar art. After a three year absence, Miike Snow unveiled an upbeat indie pop/electro single, “Heart Is Full”, and its accompanying music video in late 2015.
The Swedish trio’s anticipated third record, iii, is expected to be released on March 4th. The new album is accompanied by a major North American headline tour that launches in March. As the band traverses the continent in the spring, they will stop by music festivals Coachella and Ultra.
