New Band Formed Involving Members Of The National And Beirut

Scott and Bryan Devendorf, members of The National, have recently decided to start new band with Ben Laz from Beirut. The trio, called LNZNDRF, plan to release a self-titled album on February 19th. The National and Beirut both have been keeping busy – Beirut released a new album last September, and The National mentioned in November that they are currently working on a new album to be released sometime this year. However, LNDZNDRF has somehow found time to work on an eight-track album.

The National, an American indie rock band, was formed back in 1999 and has put out six studio albums since then. Their most recent album, Trouble Will Find Me, was released in 2013 and received amazing reviews from critics; it was even nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Many of the songs were inspired by the birth of band member Aaron Dessner’s daughter, giving the album a more intimate sound.

Combining elements of indie rock and world music, Beirut started as a solo project by Zach Condon, until he later decided to expand it into a band. Currently, the band consists of six members, each playing a variety of instruments to contribute to the band’s unique sound.

To prepare fans for their debut, LNZNDRF have released three songs off of their upcoming album – “Beneath the Black Sea”, “Kind Things”, and “Mt. Storm.”

LNZNDRF:
01. Future You
02. Beneath the Black Sea
03. Mt. Storm
04. Kind Things
05. Hypno-Skate
06. Stars and Time
07. Monument
08. Samarra
