Surfer Blood have released a new video for their song “Point of No Return,” from their May 2015 album, 1000 Palms.
The video, directed by Jeremy S. Collins, features a young boy creating his own charming interpretations of the things he sees in the world around him. Combined with Surfer Blood’s warm and shimmering sound, the video evokes pleasant feelings of nostalgia and childhood.
The last few years have been marred by controversy for Surfer Blood, who were dropped from Warner Brothers after frontman John Paul Pitts was arrested following a physical altercation with his then-girlfriend. Following 2013’s Pythons, where the lyrics were marked by discomfort and uncertainty, 1000 Palms saw the band return to a more warm and upbeat vibe, both lyrically and sonically. This warm sentiment is clearly on display in the new video, which you can check out below:
Surfer Blood is currently touring the West Coast with Cayucas for the rest of the month before returning home to native Florida.
