The Black Queen has released a new video for the track “Distanced” from their upcoming debut album Fever Daydream. Fever Daydream will be available to the public on January 29.
The Black Queen includes Dillinger Escape Plan‘s lead-vocalist, Greg Puciato, part-time Nine Inch Nails and Puscifer recruit, Joshua Eustis, and former NIN, Dillinger, and Kesha-tech, Steven Alexander. The band produces music that exhibits a blend of electronic synths and R&B vocals with each super talent contributing to its unique but familiar sound.
Most of The Black Queen’s singles or tracks are accompanied by a visual, whether that be photographs or a video. Justin Meldal-Johnsen is the executive producer of the album. On more than one occasion, the band has vocalized the importance of visual art and its role in the expression of their music.
“The overall aesthetic to me is as important as the music. We care about every detail of everything involved, and treat every aspect as an opportunity for expression. To make everything intersect. In that way, this feels more like an art project than a band. With the record just happening to be a form. There’s a lot of freedom in that approach, as well as pride and care that develops from it. Caring and attention to detail reinforces itself.”
