Unknown Mortal Orchestra, aka Ruban Nielson and his brother Kody Nielson, released a collaboration on Christmas called “SB-03.” The song was released on SoundCloud which is posted below.
The art accompanying the song was made by Jenny Nielson, Ruban’s wife. “SB-03” follows “SB-01” and “SB-02” which were released at the end of 2013 and 2014, according to Pitchfork.
The band was formed in 2010, with Ruban on vocals and guitar, Jack Portrait on bass and Riley Geare on drums. Kody Nielson is apart of his own band named Silicon.
This is the first time they have collaborated since their band Mint Chicks broke up. Both bothers were a part of the band called The Mint Chicks for about 9 years. The band played their last show in March of 2010. The Nielson brothers were accompanied by Paul Roper and Michael Logie. The band released two EPs and three albums.
