LISTEN: Ra Ra Riot Release New Song “Absolutely,” Announce Spring 2016 Tour Dates

Ra Ra Riot has just released a new track called “Absolutely” off of their forthcoming album, Need Your Light.

To help ring in the New Year, Ra Ra Riot has done what several other artists have done and released surprise 2016 track. The new song is titled “Absolutely” and is a synthesized explosion of pop music. It is a song that even the worst rainy day does not stand a chance against. The song was released as part of the “New Year’s Resolutions” playlist on Spotify but is off of Ra Ra Riot’s forthcoming album, Need Your Light. The song can be viewed below.

“Absolutely” was recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Seattle, WA with producer Ryan Hadlock. With experience working with bands such as Vance Joy, Lumineers and Blonde Redhead, Hadlock was a much needed asset to the tracks success. Bear Creek Studios is actually the same studio that Ra Ra Riot recorded their debut album, The Rhumb Line.

Need Your Light is the forth full-length album from the band and includes the lineup of Wes Miles on vocals, Mathieu Santos on bass, Milo Bonacci on guitar, Rebecca Zeller on violin and Kenny Bernard on drums. Most of the album was produced by Hadlock but two of the tracks, “I Need Your Light” and “Water,” bring produced by Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, Charli XCX and Carly Rae Jepsen). Ra Ra Riot will begin the tour in support of the new album on March 2 at the Hollow in Albany, NY. The tour will consist of 6 weeks of travel and end back in Geneva, NY at the Cracker Factory. Ticketing information and tour dates can be found below.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
