LCD Soundsystem announced in October that they would reunite for at least three music festivals in the US and UK in 2016; then, rumors of a nearing reunion began swirling with the group’s release of “Christmas Will Break Your Heart” last month. Finally, the reunion has come to fruition with the announcement of LCD Soundsystem headlining Coachella 2016.
The New York Times revealed that LCD Soundsystem and Guns N’ Roses are both reuniting to headline the California festival next April. The former’s last performance was in 2011 at Madison Square Garden, while the latter’s original lineup hasn’t performed since the 90s. Coachella’s performance signifies the reconciliation between Slash and Axl Rose, whose feud had lasted more than 20 years.
The Guns N’ Roses Coachella performance and subsequent summer tour was announced last month, while Nile Rodgers and Chic were announced as headliners back in November.
